For the Entire Family

Direct primary care is often referred to as a retainer-based medical practice or membership medicine. This revolutionary brand of medical care is focused on your individual needs and is being resurrected from a time when the family physician was actually part of the family.

In essence, patients pay a monthly fee to their physician allowing them access to an array of medical services. Direct primary care practices do not accept insurance. Instead, they work directly with the patient or client to achieve the best outcomes. This type of primary care medical practice is truly about helping you achieve YOUR goals and focused on YOUR health. Your healthcare should never be dictated by insurance middleman.

Services not covered under the direct primary care membership fee are offered at a reduced cost. Laceration repair, IV hydration are offered at our office at a reduced cost for our members. We even dispense some medications from our office pharmacy at a very low or reduced cost.

Q&A

Direct primary care is an arrangement between a provider and a patient whereby the patient pays the provider a monthly fee for access to consults and services that the doctors office provides. There are many benefits to having a direct relationship with your doctor. First, the physician is there to take care of you. They are not there to check boxes for your insurance company. Multiple studies have shown decreased rates of hospitalization, fewer medications utilized, fewer days off from work and overall better outcomes with a direct primary care arrangement.

Compass Cellular Healing has intentionally been designed from its inception with a determined effort to ignore the conventions of modern medicine. The attitude of “going with the flow” and third-party influencers have put medicine in a distasteful situation for patients and doctors. New federal laws increase the influence of administrators and insurance payers in how your health care delivered. This shapes the system to suit the needs of the masses. However, healthcare policy ignores what is best for YOU — the independent and individual patient. Individual patients have lost access to personal care.

Primary Care includes the care and management of but not limited to; traditional health problems like diabetes, hypertension, high cholesterol, cold & flu, acute GI issues, IV therapy, lacerations, skin lesions, and more. For those who need a little more than Primary Care. Our Functional Medicine Membership specializes in the treatment a variety of chronic diseases such as lyme disease, mold toxicity, ulcerative colitis, rheumatoid arthritis, multiple sclerosis, and parkinson’s disease.

The DPC Membership includes unlimited 15 minute urgent care visits for acute diagnosis and ongoing medical conditions such as hypertension, diabetes, and acute GI issues.

Unfortunately DPC monthly membership fees and office-based care or services are not covered by insurance. However, HSA funds can be used to cover the costs associated with all our membership options. As physicians have had tougher times dealing with insurance companies, more physicians have opted for a direct primary care arrangement. This allows you to use your health insurance for what it was intended to be used for. Should you have surgery or a major illness, such as cancer or an accident you would have insurance to help cover the cost associated with those episodes. You would never use your car insurance to have the oil changed and the windshield wipers replaced. You would only use your car insurance in the unlikely event of an accident. Therefore, you would only use your health insurance for a major accident. The basic things like a laceration suture or an office visit for a cold are usually covered in the arrangement with the physician or are offered at a very low cost in addition to the primary monthly fee. Also, because we know you directly, and we don’t have to deal with your insurance company we do our best to keep you out of the office. 98% of all primary care visits can be handled over the telephone. We aim to do this for you and make your life easy. If you have to come to the office you can rest assured that they were likely be little or no wait time and that we will quickly move to get you treated and out of the office.

Membership patients pay a monthly fee to have access to an array of medical services and treatment plans. While memberships are not required; Dr. Lee Howard requires a fee of $600/hr for patient consultations outside of membership.

Yes we do. We understand getting quality healthcare for everyone in your family can be costly. For this reason we have capped the membership rate at just $275/month for families with four or more individuals in a unit.

FAQ

What are the benefits of using Direct Primary Care?

Studies have shown that Medicare beneficiaries enrolled in a DPC practice have lower out of pocket costs, a 30% less chance of being hospitalized and are on fewer medications. Overall, what we have found is that our clients are healthier and happier with their healthcare. Our clients save money and time by partnering with us.

How do you compare in price to other medical practices?

We work directly with our patients to individualize care, reduce cost, and improve outcomes.

Do I need to come to the office?

It is widely known that 95% of all primary care visits can be handled remotely. We leverage technology-phone calls, text and video chat to provide care for you and your family without having to leave work or home.

Who benefits from a direct primary care arrangement?

Anyone who needs healthcare. Everyone will need healthcare at some point. Insurance deductibles and premiums have increased dramatically making care less affordable. A DPC arrangement can make care affordable again and, the best part, it actually works for you. Here’s why, we spend time with our clients, we listen to their problems and help find real solutions. Our goal is to get you off of medicines, if we can, and improve your overall health. We can do this because an insurance company is not telling us what to do.

Do I still need health insurance?

Yes. We recommend that our clients continue to carry health insurance. This is typically a catastrophic healthcare policy with a high deductible. Because most of the services needed by our clients can be handled through our office at a cash pay rate we are able to save our clients significant amounts of money on their healthcare. At the end of the day, health insurance is utilized much like your car insurance would be utilized-only in the event of an accident, major illness or need for surgery. Also, there are simply some services that we cannot offer or perform at our office. Therefore maintaining health insurance coverage is recommended. We do work with our clients to guide them on what type of policy they would need.

Can I use my HSA or FSA funds to pay for a cost associated with my direct primary care membership?

Yes, these funds may be used towards any of our services.

What services do you offer?

We additionally serve our patients by dispensing certain medications from our office pharmacy and offering other services (such as IV Hydration, Laceration repair) at reduced costs.

Healthcare is personal. You owe it to yourself to pursue healthcare solutions that work for you and your family. Better care, better results, better experiences. If you have questions or would like to learn more about our memberships give us a call today to learn more.
